Equestrian Western Marti Clock w/3rd Dragoon Bit
An extraordinary Equestrian Clock made by the superior French clock maker, S. Marti Company, to commemorate the American Old West, circa 1840 to 1860. The pendulum is made from a spur and the clock also incorporates other horse or equestrian gear including a horseshoe, bridle, spurs, and features a very rare and desirable military 3rd DRAGOON BIT! On the back of the mechanism it is signed S. Marti and Bronze in a small circle.
This unique clock is in good condition with no breakage. Some of the patina has worn off in places, as to be expected considering its age, but this just gives it great character, in our opinion. It is in fine working condition, but we do not guarantee accuracy. We believe it to be an 8-day clock and it also has a very nice sounding chime. This wonderful clock would make a significant contribution to any clock, equestrian or polo collection and a great conversation piece as well!
