Beautiful Signed Oil Painting by Robert Wagner
A beautiful Signed Oil Painting on Canvas by the California artist, Robert Wagner, entitled "New Day". It was painted at sunrise with the sun just peering over the Sierra Nevada Mountains, casting lovely shades of pink on the peaks. The stream with boulders in the foreground looks very inviting. It is framed in a wonderful original gilt frame and signed on both the front and the back. The painting itself measures 16 X 20, and with the frame it measures approximately 23 X 26. Both frame and painting are in excellent condition.
Robert Wagner was a close friend, protégé, and agent of the renowned landscape artist, Robert Wood. Mr. Wagner was born in California and lived most of his life in Laguna Beach. He studied at the Chouinard Institute. He was the recipient of numerous awards among them the coveted Golden Palette Award for his painting "San Francisco" which was reproduced on the stage of the famous Laguna Festival of Arts. Among his many collectors are the Rockefellers, Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne, and the Blackwells. What a great decorative statement this painting would make, and a wonderful addition to your art collection as well.
